Tips for living
1. Don't live on your emotions. Base your decisions on what is right to and not on how you feel. The Bible teaches us right from wrong. Get your information from it and not from friends, family, and other books, etc.
2. Unhealthy attracts unhealthy. Unhealthy thinking, actions, attitudes, emotions, and poor spiritual awareness can only attract other people with basically the same problems, or types of problems. Knowing how to live, think, behave, etc., is taught to us through the word of God. Become grounded in God's Word, and it can make you spiritually and mentally healthy. Healthy people attract healthy people.
3. Everything you do comes back to you. You reap what you sow (Galatians 6:7). This means that the type of living you choose, your actions, or your attitudes, eventually return to you in either a positive or negative form. If you display negative, angry, dishonest, hurtful, etc. behaviors, then people and circumstances will immediately or eventually return some kind of negativity. The same applies for positive good, kind, forgiving, honest behaviors and attitudes. It will also be returned.
4. I have to do whatever I have to do in order to survive. This statement is absolutely not true. God promises that if you are a born-again child of His, He will feed and clothe you. Sometimes choices that are not in line with God and his Word, appear to be the easier choice, but always in the long run there is a high price pay.
5. You must give up your life in order to find life. This statement is true not only to become a born-again believer but it is also true to have a great life. If you give up your wants, the control of your life, and your heart to the Lord and let him guide you, then life becomes so much more full and abundant. He tells us this in His word and it is so true!
6. People are only people. People make mistakes, they are sinful, and they will fail you. Never put a person above the Lord. Jesus never fails you and will never leave you.
7. God is love. "And everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God." (1 John 4:7). Therefore, the people in your life that don't know God are not capable of loving you. To receive love, you need God and his people. See: Who God is: Love video
8. Don’t do anything you will regret. Living with something bad that you have done is a hard thing. Strive to keep your life clear of regret.
9. Don't measure wealth by money. The things that are intangible in this world are far more important than the tangible. Love, peace, joy, health, friends, family, etc. are the important things in life. If you have the more important things, you have great wealth.
