Contrast
God is magnified by contrast. Contrast is realized by a significant difference or the opposite. Through contrast, evil magnifies good. It points to love. The person can be saved or unsaved. Actions of sin. Actions of evil. Romans 3: 3-7 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged. But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man) God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world? For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner? |
The Conscience
God is magnified by use of our conscience. Conscience is God's laws written in the heart and mind. It is not the Holy Spirit within a person, it is just the natural born internal judgment of right and wrong. The person can be saved or unsaved. They listen to their conscience and not the Holy Spirit. Intent to adhere to the inner laws of God magnifies Him. Romans 2:14,15 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another; |
Walking in the Spirit
God is magnified and glorified by walking in the Spirit. Galatians 5:16-25 The person can only be saved. Actions are guided by the Holy Spirit. Actions are truly love that flow from God. God is not only magnified but also glorified (see: Definitions). Philippians 1:20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's. |
