God
Does God keep the laws that He wrote (conscience and Mosaic)? No. God is love. Love fulfills (completes) the law. The fruit of the Spirit is God flowing. Galatians 5:22,23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. God made the law for sinners- not for Himself. 1Timothy 1:9,10 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine. |
Believer in the Spirit
Does a believer keep the laws that God wrote? No. When we are believers, we are seated with Him in heavenly places; justified; sanctified. Spiritually, we are joint heirs with Christ and therefore, free from the law. When we are walking in the spirit, there is no law. Galatians 5:18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. We are free and enter into His rest. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Galatians 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. Hebrews 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest... We love God by FAITH and loving others- not by keeping the law. |
Unbeliever
Is an unbeliever accountable to follow the laws of God? Yes, they are accountable to follow the laws of God because the laws are written on their heart and mind (their conscience). Until they believe in Christ, they need a schoolmaster. Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. |
Carnal Believer
Is a carnal believer accountable to follow the laws of God? Yes, physically to their conscience and the moral laws. Even though their spirit is seated in heavenly places, their physical body is still carnal and they are walking carnally (in the flesh). Their heart isn't submitting to love, their spiritual walk and behavior is as though they are unbelievers. Only when a believer is walking in love (in the Spirit), are they free from the law. Fruit of the Spirit - against such there is no law (Galatians 5:23). |
